Now that you’ve decided to hire a team of outside SEO experts, what’s next? Your next question is: how do I find the right SEO company?
Choosing a professional SEO Company in Mumbai can be challenging if you don’t have a strong grasp of search engine optimization.
The situation has happened many times before. As a company is searching for SEO services, it looks into digital marketing agencies for help but does not know where to begin. Our goal with this post is to help business owners spot con artists and see through the BS.
To collect SEO experts’ insights, we reached out to dozens. In response to their recommendations, we have compiled a list of the most important questions you should ask when vetting an SEO provider.
Inquire about their SEO processes
Each SEO company will have its process. However, their team should be able to explain these processes comfortably. If you have questions about their SEO techniques and corresponding deliverables, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Ask them what steps they take in their SEO audits if they mention that they conduct one.
Ask how they come up with good keywords to target if they mention they conduct keyword research.
Ask what technical SEO entails if they mention that.
If you are still unsure what each of these deliverables means, ask for clarification. Salespeople help their customers understand these deliverables by explaining them in an easy-to-understand manner.
Ask for expectations for their SEO Services
We sometimes encounter prospects who think ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs) is an overnight process. Our next point is to remind you that SEO is a long-term game and can take anywhere from 3-6 months to see results. We can tell you right now that any SEO agency that guarantees first page rankings in a week is a sham.
Although short-term results may look impressive, they are rare. If you want to know what a successful SEO campaign would look like and what results from you can expect, ask about it when you inquire about services.
Inquire about previous SEO Work
Ask to see a case study of one of their previous clients after hearing their benchmarks for expected results. It may not be possible with all firms, particularly young ones. As a benchmark for the results of a specific service, case studies are excellent.
It should be noted that marketers always tend to highlight outliers, so the results shown in the case study may not reflect the actual metrics you would see if you worked with the firm.
For example, our SEO + content marketing efforts resulted in 284.4% organic search traffic growth for a client over 9 months.
Ask about the transparency of their progress
At Intergrowth, we believe in being open and transparent about everything we do.
Every client that we work with has its Growth Hub. Clients have access to comprehensive reports on their SEO campaigns through the Growth Hub. All strategic assets are accessible to all clients, and articles are ready for approval in real-time.
While most reputable SEO companies offer transparency, others do not. It would help if you worked with SEO companies who are comfortable showing you their work. All deliverables should be transparent, as well as their progress.
Ask the SEO company about Reporting
Reporting, as most reputable companies provide ongoing reporting. Request to see an example report they send to clients. Additionally, inquire about the company’s primary metrics.
Find out which tools are used for SEO reporting. A few of our favourite tools are Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and SEMRush. Is it possible for you to access those tools to confirm the accuracy of the metrics they share with you?
A good SEO company will report on backlink counts, search engine rankings for high-priority keywords, and organic traffic improvements. These metrics will be connected to revenue for your business by a great firm.
Ask them how SEO has Changed
Search engine optimization changes constantly, and a knowledgeable SEO pays attention to these changes. Your SEO company should be able to give you an overview of some of the biggest algorithm changes in the industry over the past few years (and how those changes have affected their SEO strategies). Ask a broad question and let them answer as they see fit.
